Complete Guide: Required Documents for Car Sale/Purchase

Everything you need to know to buy or sell a car safely and legally in Romania.

Fiscal Invoice

In the case of legal entities, the Sales Contract is replaced by the Fiscal Invoice.

The invoice must contain all identification data of the selling and buying company.
Car data must be specified (make, model, chassis series).
Stamp and signature are required (if the company still uses a stamp).

Fiscal Certificate

The selling company must obtain the Fiscal Attestation Certificate, proving it has no debts to the local budget.

Important: The fiscal certificate is valid for 30 days and is mandatory for alienating the vehicle.

Completing the Registration Certificate

Tip

Always check the chassis series (VIN) on the documents and on the car before signing the contract.

On the back of the registration certificate, the alienation to the new owner is mentioned. The signature of the legal representative and the company stamp (optional, but recommended) are required.

Registration (Legal Entity Buyer)

The file for registration on the company must additionally contain:

Company CUI: Copy of the Company Registration Certificate.
Delegation: Power of attorney for the person submitting the file.
Copy of Delegate ID: Identity card of the authorized person.
Company RCA: Insurance must be in the company's name.
